What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?

Hormones ensure your body functions properly and achieves optimal health. These powerful chemical messengers communicate with cells and organs, affecting everything from digestion to reproduction.

If your hormones become unbalanced, it can cause widespread symptoms that reduce your quality of life and, in some cases, cause potentially life-threatening complications.

One of the most common hormonal problems is a fall in estrogen and testosterone (female sex hormones) during menopause. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, or BHRT, restores your hormone levels, reducing the symptoms typical of menopause.

What symptoms does bioidentical hormone replacement therapy treat?

Common symptoms BHRT can treat include:

  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Problems concentrating
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Fatigue
  • Thinning hair and skin
  • Reduced libido (sex drive)
  • Mood swings
  • Muscle aches and pains
  • Difficulty sleeping

Hormonal problems don’t just affect women. Testosterone declines in men after 35, decreasing by 1-2% yearly after 40 — a problem often referred to as andropause.

Testosterone decline can cause problems like loss of sexual desire, erectile dysfunction, reduced muscle mass, trouble focusing, lack of energy, and low motivation. Low testosterone also increases heart disease, dementia, and diabetes risk.

Bioidentical hormones safely and naturally replace missing hormones. Quench Wellness uses BioTE BHRT.

What is BioTE BHRT?

Bioidentical hormones copy the body’s natural hormones, making them easier for your system to use. BioTE high-quality bioidentical hormones come as tiny pellets your provider inserts under your skin.

BHRT pellet insertion takes under two minutes and is virtually painless. Patients can typically resume most of their regular activities immediately after treatment.

Pellets provide a longer-lasting, more consistent dose than other HRT treatment methods like pills, patches, and injections. You also need fewer treatments because the pellets last for several months.
